An e-bike is an electric bicycle equipped with pedals and a battery-powered motor. The motor makes hills easier, extends range, and allows riders of all fitness levels to travel farther with less effort.
Yes. E-bikes are extremely safe when ridden responsibly. We recommend that riders of all ages:
✔ Watch our brief e-bike riding how-to video
✔ Wear a helmet
✔ Follow local traffic laws
✔ Use lights when riding at night
✔ Maintain safe speeds on multi-use trails
✔ Make friends aware of your route
✔ Ride with a buddy when possible
Ages 10+ can safely ride an e-bike if they already know how to ride a standard bicycle. Rental riders ages 10-13 must have adult supervision at all times during the activity. Rental riders ages 10-17 must have a legal guardian sign the rental agreement form prior to the activity. Riders of all ages should wear a helmet.
While some e-bikes assist only when the rider pedals, E-Bike Supercenter focuses on models that feature all-electric mode, enabling fully powered riding for the duration of the battery's charge. We recommend, however, that riders still pedal to the extent that they're comfortable to reduce battery dependency and lengthen ride time. All e-bikes can be pedaled as a normal bicycle even after the battery runs out.
Most street-legal e-bikes travel up to 20–28 mph, depending on the model and assist level. All bikes are delivered configured for street-legal use and can be programmed for authorized applications where permitted.
In most jurisdictions, a street legal e-bike is classified as a bicycle rather than a motor vehicle. That means it can typically be ridden anywhere regular bicycles are allowed—such as streets, bike lanes, and many multi-use paths—without requiring a driver’s license, registration, or insurance.
The typical range for an e-bike is 40–70 miles per charge, depending on model, terrain, rider weight, assist level, surface, weather conditions, and battery capacity. E-bike riders routinely complete several days of commuting on a single charge.

E-Bike Supercenter is the preferred e-bike dealer for active communities and college towns—with free test rides, wifi, cornhole, cold brew, craft beer and live music on tap. Rent by the hour, day, week, month or semester. Return at the end or apply toward purchase. We can handle large groups and special events, too!
